WMO PC Meeting on the Updates of the Housing Project for the Flood Affectees

A meeting was held followed by Dinner at Bambou Sindhi Muslim whereby Mr. Kamran Ghani, Chief Advisor GYW along with Mr. Mulassum Younus, Gen Secretary WMO GYW PC, met with the WMO PC chapter led by Regional President Mr. H M Shahzad, Mr. Altaf Jangda, Regional Gen Secretary, and Mr. Arsalan Nara, Treasurer to follow-up on the updates of the Housing Project for the Flood affectees.

The team has planned and initiated works on a total of 360 houses divided into two regions. The regions are as follows:

Region 1 = 260 Houses which include Meher, Waray, Larkana and Shikarpur

Region 2 = 100 houses which Tharri Meherwa and Ranipur.

Mr. HM Shahzad informed that the team has awarded the contract for 100 houses to a trusted contractor referred to Shahzad bha by the Navy personal. Wmo Pak team bargained tightly with contractor and is satisfied that they got the best and lowest prices.
Quality assurance will be done by two sitting session judges of that area who are going to visit and inspect ongoing works daily and are accessible 24 hours by wmo team.

*For Region 2: *
Altaf bha has given the task to local respected and influential people and they are making 6/7 houses as mock-up houses. Once those houses are finalised then only other houses will be given to the people as per costing and other things after careful scrutiny by WMO PC TEAM.

The team assured that the design has been finalised and a uniform design will be executed all across. To complete all 360 houses target time is 3 months maximum.

It is also decided a Soft reminders will be sent to donors who promised the pledge but yet not paid.
