This is a Privacy Notice, which has been given to you by World Memon Organisation Charitable Foundation (“The WMO”) in compliance with the New Regulations known as General Data Protection Regulations.

The purpose behind this notice is to explain to you that why and when we collect personal information about you; how we use it, the conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secured.

The World Memon Organisation Charitable Foundation (“The WMO”) hereinafter will be referred as WMO in this Privacy Notice.

Who we are:

WMO has been formed as an international umbrella organisation in order to unite Memon organisations, institutions, corporate bodies, associations, jamaats and individuals. The purpose of the WMO is to act as the central Memon organisation representing the entire Memon community throughout the world, promoting the advancement, upliftment, unity, welfare and well-being of all Memons in all aspects of life and at all times in accordance with Islamic principles. WMO is a non-profit-making organisation incorporated by guarantee and not having a share capital, whose registered office is situated in England and Wales.

The World Memon Organisation Charitable Foundation (“the WMO”) is a company limited by guarantee and registered in England & Wales with the Companies House under registration number 04984474.

Definition:

WMO Online Membership Application Form means any digital application operated by WMO, which states that this Privacy Policy applies to that application.

Website and Online Application Forms:

The World Memon Organisation Website means www.wmoworld.org.

WMO website and Online Applications forms, including all information and materials contained on them are managed by WMO.

WMO is committed to ensuring the privacy of all our users. This Privacy Policy governs all pages on WMO Website and the operation of WMO Membership Applications.

Consent

By using WMO website and/or the WMO Membership Application, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy. WMO may change the terms of this Privacy Policy from time to time.

What types of information do we collect and store?

The type and amount of information we receive and store depends on how you use the WMO Website and/or Membership Application Form.

We do not collect personal information (such as your name, address, phone number or e-mail address) on WMO website or WMO Membership Application unless you choose to provide it.

How do we use information collected?

Your personal information will be retained by WMO and its service providers in a secure environment, will be kept confidential, and will only be used in connection with the purposes for which it is submitted or as necessary for us to comply with our legal obligations. For example, personal information submitted for the purposes of making a donation will be used to process that donation and personal information submitted with an expression of interest in joining will be used appropriately for that purpose. We take appropriate security measures to ensure that we keep your information secure, accurate and up to date, and that we only keep it for as long as is reasonable and necessary. However the transmission of information over the Internet is never completely secure, so while we do our best to protect personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted to the WMO website and/or Online Membership Application Forms.

Sharing of your personal information

The information you provide will not be sold or rented nor will it be shared with third parties unless we have your permission, or are required to disclose the information by law or in the following circumstances:

Sharing with other Chapters of WMO

WMO is an umbrella organisation of Memons and having several chapters in several countries located around the world, including within the UK.
WMO is a formally constituted body which carries out its work in different regions.

WMO may share your personal information with other chapters located around the world, who may then use your personal information in connection with their activities related to WMO or about its activities in general. For example, if you have expressed an interest in joining WMO or donating for specific cause, we would share your contact details with your local Chapter.

Hosting and processing:

WMO Website and WMO Online Membership Applications Forms are hosted by third party service providers and therefore any personal details you submit through WMO website may be processed by that third party service provider. We may also use other third parties to process your personal details. All of these third party services providers will process your personal information only on behalf of WMO and will be bound by strict confidentiality conditions.

Payment processing and fraud:

Where submitted, your card details may be disclosed to banks or relevant financial institutions to arrange payments. In the case of a suspected fraudulent transaction, your details may be further disclosed for the sole purpose of performing further checks (for example, disclosure to a credit checking agency).

Access to your personal information

You may have rights of access to the personal information that we hold about you, to correct that information or, in some circumstances, to object to our processing of your information, under data privacy law. Your Rights including Rights to access:

Under GDPR, you are entitled to access your personal data (otherwise known as a ‘right to access’). If you wish to make a request, please contact us. A request for access to your personal data means you are entitled to a copy of the data we hold on you – such as your name, address, contact details and membership form.

Under certain circumstances, in addition to the entitlement to ‘access your data’, you have the following rights:

a) The right to be informed:

This right is fulfilled by way of this privacy notice and our transparent explanation as to how we use your personal data.

b) The right to rectification:

You are entitled to have personal data rectified if it is inaccurate or incomplete.

c) The right to erasure / ‘right to be forgotten’:

You have the right to request the deletion or removal of your personal data where there is no compelling reason for its continued processing.

d) The right to object:

You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests; and direct marketing.

e) The right to restrict processing:

You have the right to request the restriction or suppression of your data.

When processing is restricted, we can store the data but not use it.

Removal your email address from the mailing list :

WMO offers different type of membership and also send emails and WhatsApp messages to members, potential members and people of memon community.

According to our database, you are on the database of WMO, but if you want us to remove your name from our database, then contact us immediately to enable us to take appropriate steps to address your request.
