In the Loving Memory of Sumaiya Salman Iqbal

The WMO Industrial Training Center rises tall amidst the slums of Ambojwadi in the suburbs of Mumbai. It is a beacon of hope and empowerment for women in maximum city.

It will offer a multitude of courses including sewing, embroidery, computer training, self grooming, cooking, among several others. The Center is not just a place of learning, but a sanctuary for women and children to cultivate special skill sets, ensuring self-reliance and financial independence from a tender age.

The Arts and Crafts center for children is dedicated to the loving memory of 𝙎𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙮𝙖 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙄𝙦𝙗𝙖𝙡, the daughter of Mr. Salman Iqbal – President of the World Memon Organisation. Although the child left for her heavenly abode on the first Friday of May, her legacy will live on through this center, a symbol of aspirations and a testament to the power of education and empowerment.

We hope that every child that passes out of the institution remembers her name, that it was the Sumaiya Salman Iqbal center that enabled them to break free from the shackles of poverty and live a life of dignity, faraway from the slums, sufferings and hardships, they were born into.

We believe the center will impact and make a difference in the lives of thousands of women and children in the years to come. And we pray that the name of Sumaiya Salman Iqbal lives on forever.
