Memon Toastmaster’s Programme – Speech craft

The award ceremony of Inaugural memontoastmasters programme was held on 18th October at the Memon Association of Sri Lanka. The programme was successfully completed by 25 participants.The participants included students, businessman as well as professionals. The programme involved a 10 week training programme in which participants were taught on techniques to be used in public speaking forums.
Mr. AmeenBhaila, President of the Memon Association of Sri Lanka was the chief guest for the event and in his speech urged people to participate in these kind of programmes which will be beneficial for future of young generation.

The trainers were from The Colombo Toastmaster’s Club , which has more than 70 Toastmaster’s clubs under its supervision. Mr. Yusuf Jeevunjee, Past President of Colombo Toastmaster’s Club advised to set up a toastmaster’s club for memons in the future in order for people to get more involved and improve their public speaking skills.

The response from the audience during the award ceremony as commendable with many parents requesting to hold the programme for young kids as well as for ladies. The youth wing of the far east chapter is working on planning the next programme.
