Humanitarian Aid for Rohingya – Project Aman

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

We seek your invaluable contributions towards the rehabilitation of the Rohingya community. WMO is building homes at the Refugee Camps in Bangladesh to provide shelter from the torrential rains as the dreaded monsoon season is upon them.

Most of the families live in flimsy tarpaulin huts which risk being washed away during heavy rains and flooding. WMO is building sturdy bamboo homes that will withstand the monsoon fury, thus providing a safe and secure environment for the women and children.

Your ZAKAT contributions will go a long way in bringing a smile on the faces of the children who will stay warm, dry and safe in the confines of their homes, you have so generously provided.

Mr. Nowsad Gani (Deputy President – WMO) signed an MoU with Brac – UK in the presence of Mark Furlong (Programmes Officer, Asia) and Lewis Temple (Brac – UK CEO) at his London office.

The World Memon Organisation will contribute two hundred thousand dollars (USD 200,000) towards medicines and medical consumables, provided by BRAC to the Rohingya refugees at their various medical camps, along the Bangladesh – Myanmar border. In the next 6 months, we intend to cover a dozen camps on a daily basis, treating on an average, 1500 – 1800 ailing refugees everyday.
