WMO North India Chapter’s Annual City Chairman Meet 2025 Honors Achievements and Inspires Collective Growth
The Annual City Chairman Meet 2025 of the WMO North India Chapter unfolded with grandeur and purpose on 9th February 2025 at Haj House, Mumbai. The event saw the participation of 125 distinguished members, including Office Bearers, Trustees, Governing Council members, City Chairmen, Life Members, and esteemed guests, all gathered to celebrate the achievements and chart a path for future growth.
The event began on a spiritual note with the Tilawat-e-Quran, beautifully recited by Mr. Shabbir Patca, setting a tone of reflection and unity. This was followed by the collection of Sadqa, a cherished tradition of the WMO North India Chapter, symbolizing the collective commitment to the betterment of the Memon community and the organization’s noble endeavors. The National Anthem was then played, evoking a sense of pride and patriotism among the attendees.
Adv. Yameen Thara, GYW Regional Vice Chair of the North India Chapter, skillfully compered the event. He provided an insightful overview of WMO’s impactful activities and initiatives, setting the stage for the day’s proceedings. Mr. Sharif Memon extended a warm welcome to all attendees, expressing gratitude for their unwavering support and dedication to the cause.
The meeting progressed with the presentation of comprehensive reports, showcasing the organization’s remarkable achievements:
- WMO Activity Report: Dr. Haseen Aghadi, Regional President of the North India Chapter, presented a detailed account of key projects and developments, underscoring WMO’s commitment to community welfare.
- Ladies Wing Activity Report: Mrs. Raziabai Chasmawala, Global Ladies Deputy Chair, highlighted the inspiring initiatives led by women, emphasizing their pivotal role in driving social change.
- Youth Activity Report: Mr. Yameen Thara, GYW Regional Vice Chair, North India Chapter, shared insights into youth engagement and leadership programs, showcasing the vibrant energy of the younger generation.
Dr. Haseen Aghadi engaged in a one-on-one interaction with the City Chairmen, who presented their reports on completed projects and shared valuable suggestions for WMO’s growth. They also pledged to expand membership, reflecting their dedication to the organization’s mission.
Adv. Huriya Patel lauded WMO’s efforts and pledged her continued support for the community and humanity. Mr. Sharif Memon, Regional Secretary of the North India Chapter, passionately appealed for increased Zakat contributions, emphasizing their critical role in empowering WMO to extend its outreach.
Mr. Abdul Kadir Memon urged members to actively recruit new members, highlighting the importance of collective strength in driving WMO’s initiatives. Mr. Shakeel Batliwala announced an exciting upcoming event—an indoor under-arm cricket tournament scheduled for 26th April 2025 in Mumbai, aimed at fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship.
The event also featured a special felicitation ceremony to honor members for their exceptional contributions:
- Mementos were presented to Mr. Farid Noori, Mr. Sharif Memon, Mr. Bilal Thekiya, and Mrs. Naziya Pakizawala for their outstanding service.
- Mr. Aaftab Badshah was bestowed with the title “Masiha-e-Sehat” for his remarkable contributions to the medical field.
- Dr. Abdul Razak was felicitated with a shawl for his appointment as President of the Tharadi Memon Council.
- Mr. Moinul Mithani and Mr. Fuzel Memon were honored for their appointments as WMO Youth President and Secretary for Gujarat State, respectively.
The following Youth City Chairpersons were also felicitated with shawls in recognition of their new roles:
- Mr. Sarfaraz Vadhariya – Dhoraji
- Mr. Imran Memon – Anand
- Mr. Sadiq Kacchi – Chiplun
Alhaj Faruk Chishti, Gaddi Nasheen of Ajmer Dargah, was also honored for his spiritual contributions. Additionally, Mr. Yameen Thara was celebrated for his exceptional efforts in organizing the WMO Conclave 2.0 & Memon Olympics 2025 in Nanded, marking a milestone in WMO North India Chapter’s history.
The program concluded at 3:00 PM with a heartfelt Dua-e-Khair led by Mr. Shabbir Memon, invoking blessings for the community and the organization. Attendees then enjoyed a sumptuous lunch, fostering fellowship and strengthening bonds among members.
The Annual City Chairman Meet 2025 was a resounding success, reflecting WMO NIC’s unwavering commitment to community service, unity, and progress. The event not only celebrated past achievements but also inspired members to work collectively towards a brighter future.
