The WMO President returns to the crease at the Memon Indoor Premier League (MIPL)

by on 4 July 2021

In my years with the World Memon Organisation, the WMO President took to the field, only when the winner’s trophy was to be awarded to the captain of the victorious team. They congratulated the players, patted the winning captain on the back and handed over the silverware.

This time it was different.

Mr. Salman Iqbal came to the crease, bat in hand and smashed the ball away. It’s always a welcome sight to have the President of the organization encourage the youngsters by gracing the youth wing event. But to join the team on the ground, run the 22 yards and share some intricate shot making secrets with your fellow teammates, boosts the spirit of the youngsters and gives an exceptional fillip to the morale of the youth wing.

If the first 6 months of the Salman Iqbal Presidency or the delectable shots played by him at the MIPL are any indication, then this President is never on the back foot. He leads from the front, takes the ball head on and is the quintessential team player.
You can be rest assured that there will be many more hits over the ropes as he continues his triumphant innings as WMO President.
