The crucial Board of Trustees meeting before the onset of Ramadan is perhaps the most important congregation of the year for the World Memon Organisation, second only to the AGM. This year it was held on the 12th of March and it was a well-attended affair.

It is a meeting wherein the tallest pillars of WMO come together to donate diligently towards the many causes that serve Humanity across the globe.

Over the years, this select group of astute investors and doyens of industry have created a corpus fund for the sustenance of the organization. They have ensured that all expenditures towards the running of the organization are catered to. Thus every penny of the donations received is spent strictly in the service of Mankind.

An all encompassing Ramadan appeal presentation was delivered by Mr. Shoaib Ismail – Secretary General of the WMO Board of Trustees, highlighting the extensive humanitarian endeavours undertaken by the organisation, with over 75 million dollars being donated to several worthy causes over the past two decades.

Mr. Ashraf Sattar – Chairman of the Board of Trustees presided over the meeting and urged the august gathering to step up to the plate for Humanity. Mr. Salman Iqbal – President of WMO led from the front by pledging the lion’s share of the donations for the second year in a row, Mr. Satar Dada – former President of WMO joined him to contribute a magnanimous amount to India. Mr. Arif Habib was his usual brilliant self, giving million dollar ideas and donating handsomely too. The Shaikhani family pledged a considerable sum as well. Every esteemed Trustee who attended the meeting promised to put their best foot forward to uplift Mankind.

The meeting was testament that the WMO Board of Trustees remain the guiding lights and torch bearers of this organization. They are our elders, our leaders and the selfless workers who laid the strong foundation for the next generation to build on.

We acknowledge your sacrifices, appreciate your steadfast support and value your wisdom.
