I survived because the fire inside me burned brighter than the fire around me.

Dr Taheera Hassim, a complete woman of substance and determination. She has overcome many hurdles from a very young age and dealt with adversity gracefully, only to rise stronger as one of our educated, professional and an influential woman in the Memon Community. A qualified Obstetrician – Gynaecologist who has serves her patients with much love and compassion.

Her passion for women empowerment and growth has inspired her to drive numerous community projects, focusing specifically on educating young South African women and taking care of our orphans. Our immediate past Assistant Secretary General of the World Memon Organization – Africa Chapter and an active member of various Boards such as the Memon Association, the Islamic Medical Association of South Africa and other institutions. She has always dedicated her time and expertise for causes aimed at helping the disadvantaged. Her emergence as a female philanthropist has been remarkable over the years and she continues to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

Her common goal with these organizations has driven her to go over and above to make the world a better place. Having travelled to disaster countries in aid of relief work and giving back to the destitute.

We at WMO, are honoured to have such a phenomenal woman in our midst and we salute this brave woman for all her outstanding qualities and her selfless sacrifices.

We are extremely proud of her many achievements and would like to CONGRATULATE her on her recent well deserved WOMEN OF WONDERS AWARD 2021. The award honours women of South Africa for their great value system, their humble qualities and their ability to lead and empower those whom they come in contact with.

She certainly encompasses all these qualities and more and we look forward to her many more successful endeavors in the future Inshaa Allah.
