WMO GYW – Europe Chapter (Portugal) – Ramadhan Ration Distribution
ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
During the blessed month of Ramadhan, the WMO Global Youth Wing – Europe Chapter (Portugal) distributed essential food rations to 500 vulnerable families in the outskirts of Lisbon, particularly in areas with predominantly African communities. These distributions took place across three Masjids, ensuring that those in need were supported.
To ensure efficient organization and avoid overcrowding, the Portugal Youth Wing, in collaboration with the respective Masjid authorities, implemented a voucher system. Each family received a voucher in advance, which they could redeem for a ration bag. Additionally, Masjid representatives and individuals with disabilities, including those in wheelchairs, were provided with the same ration support.
Jazak Allahu Khayran to the Portugal Youth Wing for their generosity as donors and for their tireless dedication to the logistical efforts—including the preparation, loading, unloading, and distribution of the ration bags—ensuring the overall success of this initiative.
“Charity is one of the pillars of Islam—when given with sincerity, its rewards are boundless.”
إن شاء الله
next Saturday we hope to double.
