WMO Africa Chapter and Jama’atun Nisaa joined forces for a significant Eid Food Distribution event during Ramadan 2025/1446
The initiative, generously sponsored by Gold Keys, successfully distributed 9000 essential food items. This effort aimed to provide crucial support to 3000 individuals during the holy month of Ramadan and the festive occasion of Eid.
The seamless execution of this large-scale event was made possible by the dedicated efforts of a substantial volunteer team. Key individuals who played vital roles included Fazila AK Ismail, Halima Abdoola, Feroza Mohammed, Shireen Abdoola, Shamim Ally, Fathima Ismail, Ayesha Milani Osman, Jaweria Ismail, Farheen Osman, and Farzana Essa. Logistical support was expertly handled by Jameela Joosub and Shireen Arbee.
The event also highlighted community unity through the participation of various organizations, fostering a strong sense of cooperation. Recognizing the diverse needs of the recipients, the team thoughtfully prioritized the comfort of vulnerable individuals, ensuring special attention was given to the elderly, pregnant women, and those with infants.
Deep gratitude was expressed to Gold Keys for their generous sponsorship, which made the distribution of 9000 food items possible. Heartfelt appreciation was also extended to the dedicated volunteers, including the members of Jamaatunisa, for their tireless hard work and unwavering commitment.
Regional President of WMO Africa Chapter, Ahmed Gani, acknowledged the commendable efforts of the WMO Global Ladies Wing – Africa Chapter and Jama’atun Nisaa. The Sisters of Jama’atun Nisaa and WMO Global Ladies Wing – Africa Chapter, in turn, recognized the continuous support of WMO Africa Chapter’s leadership, including Ahmed Gani, Yusuf Kamdar, Aslam Kalla, all Africa Chapter RMC members, Kim Jooma, Farhad Arbee, and all members of the NMJ Committee. The pivotal role played by the facilities at NMJ in ensuring the smooth operation of such a substantial distribution was also highlighted.
Reflecting on the event, its success was attributed to the empowering teamwork and unwavering dedication of the volunteers. Beyond the distribution of food, the event also presented a valuable Dawah opportunity, featuring a lecture aimed at inspiring and empowering women towards self-improvement.
