Mohammed Farooq Samana’s Water Project is a Celebration of Innovation for Humanity

Mr. Mohammed Farooq Samana had been a force to reckon with in the corporate world during his early days and as he became an entrepreneur of note in the later years when he laid the foundation of his vast business empire, innovation has always been the key to success.

Then, it is no surprise that his project to bring water to the parched villages of Balochistan uses clean, green energy to draw water from the source, many a miles away.

It is truly heartening to witness solar energy being harnessed in the hinterlands of Pakistan to achieve this worthy objective. The large motors that draw out and transport the water run on electricity produced by the installed solar panels. Then a network of pipes spanning a few kilometers, tunnel through mountains, carrying the precious fresh water to the villages.

Hundreds of families living in the remote villages of Balochistan are spared the task of ascending mountains and crossing valleys in their quest for clean drinking water. The project is a celebration of innovation for Humanity, wherein renewable sources of energy are solving age old problems.
