WMO’s New 116-Bed Multi-Speciality Hospital to Serve Palghar’s Tribal Community

A new charitable multi-speciality hospital is set to open in Palghar, Maharashtra, addressing the region’s critical lack of advanced medical infrastructure. The 116-bed facility, established by the World Memon Organisation (WMO) on Saatpati Road, aims to provide accessible and affordable healthcare to local tribal communities.

Funded primarily by the WMO North India and Middle East Chapters, the hospital fills a significant gap in emergency and specialised care between Vapi and Mira Road. Equipped with modern facilities—including cardiac care, MRI, pathology labs, and ambulance services—it will offer subsidised treatments to financially weak patients, with free care for the most vulnerable.

Built on land donated by the late Iqbal Dhanan, the project reflects WMO’s commitment to serving rural and underserved populations. Unlike many urban private hospitals, this initiative will operate on a no-profit, no-loss basis, prioritizing community welfare over commercial gains.

Once operational, the hospital is expected to become a lifeline for Palghar’s tribal residents, reducing preventable deaths and providing hope through reliable healthcare.
