by on 21 February 2024

The WMO North India Chapter continues its legacy of uplifting communities by laying the foundation for a new housing colony in Palghar. This project adds to their impressive achievement of 5 completed housing colonies, 4 under construction, and 2 more sanctioned, reflecting their unwavering commitment to the WMO Aashiyana initiative.

The ceremony on February 18th was a momentous occasion, marked by the presence of esteemed guests like Mr. Haseen Aghadi, Regional President of WMO North India Chapter, Mr. Iqbal Hamid Memon, representative from AIMJF and also a WMO Life Member, Mr. Arif Babla (Life Member WMO North India Chapter), Mr. Salim Bandhukia (Office Secretary WMO North India Chapter). The colony holds particular significance as it caters to the Memon community in Palghar site areas like Satpati, Manor, Dahanu, Boisar, Chinchan, Sajan, Vapi, and Jawhar, encompassing an estimated 7,500 Memon individuals.

This project promises to provide secure and comfortable homes for 15 families, offering them a foundation for stability and growth. But beyond bricks and mortar, it symbolizes the WMO’s commitment to empowering communities. The initiative goes hand-in-hand with recognizing academic excellence, as evidenced by the Annual Prize Distribution program held alongside the ceremony. Witnessing the local children, future torchbearers, being honored for their achievements adds another layer of meaning to this impactful project.

The WMO North India Chapter’s dedication to building homes, building futures, serves as an inspiration. Their relentless efforts demonstrate the power of collective action in creating positive change and ensuring a brighter tomorrow for generations to come.
