WMO Europe Chapter was privileged to meet with Mr Tahir Mahmood, Acting High Commissioner of Pakistan to the United Kingdom, at the Pakistan High Commission in London.

The WMO Europe Chapter delegation consisted of Shahzad Iqbal (Regional President), Farhan Farooq (Regional Secretary) and Nisar Bawany (Regional Treasurer).

The meeting focused on a range of important topics affecting the British Pakistani community, including educational opportunities and scholarships, youth support and counselling services, trade and business engagement, Urdu language education, sports development and broader community welfare initiatives.

A productive exchange of ideas also took place on strengthening community cohesion, empowering younger generations, preserving cultural heritage and promoting a positive image of Pakistan and Pakistanis living in the United Kingdom.

Both sides welcomed the opportunity to explore future collaboration through joint programmes, community events and initiatives that contribute towards education, social development and community engagement.
