WMO Europe Chapter was pleased to meet with Paul White, Senior Labour Councillor from the London Borough of Wandsworth Council.

The WMO Europe Chapter delegation consisted of Shahzad Iqbal – Regional President, Farhan Farooq – Regional Secretary, and Nisar Bawany, Regional Treasurer.

The meeting focused on areas of shared interest and a common vision for supporting and strengthening our local communities. Discussions included building a collaborative partnership between WMO Europe Chapter and Wandsworth Council to deliver meaningful community initiatives.

Both parties also explored opportunities to promote healthier lifestyles and stronger community engagement through sports, including organising sporting events, providing access to local sports clubs and pitches, and developing high quality WMO branded sports kits to encourage youth participation and community cohesion.

The meeting reflected a shared commitment to working hand in hand on projects that create lasting social impact, strengthen community wellbeing, and improve the lives of local residents.

WMO Europe Chapter looks forward to developing this partnership with Wandsworth Council and turning these shared ideas into practical initiatives that benefit the wider community.
