In June, a delegation of prominent Memons from the upper echelons of the Indian business and philanthropic community visited Markaz Knowledge City, India’s largest cultural center, spread over hundreds of acres on the outskirts of Calicut, Kerala. The delegation was led by the Regional President of WMO North India Chapter and Executive Vice President of the Markaz – Mr. 𝙀𝙝𝙨𝙖𝙣 𝙂𝙖𝙙𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙖, and included the top brass of the WMO North India Chapter.

Markaz Knowledge City is a unique, integrated township that offers quality social infrastructure for academic institutions, healthcare facilities, residential homes, and commercial spaces. It stands as a symbol of enlightenment, embodying the essence of education, spirituality, and community service. The institutions have become beacons of hope, nurturing young minds and fostering a spirit of excellence in various fields of study.

The project was initiated by the Markazu Saqafathi Sunniya, headed by the Grand Mufti of India, 𝙎𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙠𝙝 𝘼𝙗𝙪𝙗𝙖𝙠𝙧 𝘼𝙝𝙢𝙖𝙙. The Memon delegates’ visit strengthened the ties and cemented the collaboration of WMO and the Markaz for the furtherance of education in India.

Starting with the upgradation of several schools in Gujarat, taking over the management of numerous Memon educational institutions, enrollment of Memon students at the Markaz to procure law degrees, and advanced talks to build a hostel for arriving Memon students at the Markaz, this crucial alliance underlines the World Memon Organizations’ firm belief that education is the bedrock on which communities and nations are built.

This partnership is a welcome step towards empowering the Memon community in India and providing them with the tools to succeed. The collaboration between WMO and Markaz Knowledge City is a testament to the power of education and the impact it can have on individuals and society as a whole. Together, they are paving the path towards a brighter future for Memons across India.
