by on 11 November 2023

On the 11th of November 2023, the 21st WMO AGM was hosted by the Middle-East Chapter in the vibrant city of Dubai.

It is a celebration of Memon brotherhood. The warm camaraderie, fellowship and affiliation of Memons from all corners of the World towards this wonderful organization is strikingly evident by the colossal turn out at the event.

There are large representations from Pakistan, Africa, Sri Lanka, North America, Europe, India and of course, the host country of the United Arab Emirates.

The AGM endorses WMO as the truly global, umbrella organization which unites Memons from across the globe under its wings. The theme ‘United for a Common Cause ’ was aptly chosen to firmly underline this sentiment.

Mr. Salman Iqbal, was reelected President of the World Memon Organisation, unopposed for the second term from 2023 – 26.

He announced that Memon Day would be celebrated on the 10th of April. The essence of Memon Day is the very ethos of the World Memon Organisation – to Unite, Uphold and Uplift Mankind. Hence the Global Memon Community would come together on that day and provide a broad spectrum of humanitarian services to the less fortunate of the World.

The WMO President also emphasized that education is the bedrock on which communities and nations rise and stand. It is the birth right of every child. Hence the objective would be that no Memon child remains without an education by the year 2030.

The AGM also marked the launch of the Inspire Card. The Card marks an important milestone in the journey and evolution of WMO into a corporate structure where each penny is accounted for, all transactions are transparent and every action is guaranteed in compliance with the highest international standards. A revolutionary step towards a cashless charity.
