The Orphanage Project

by on 31 December 2020

On the 30th of November, Dr. Taheera Hassim (Regional Secretary General – WMO Africa Chapter) and her husband Abdul Kader visited Al Hudaar Orphanage located in the Orange farm area of Lenasia, South Africa. The orphanage also houses a Madressah wherein Islamic education is imparted to children who are encouraged to embrace Islam. The children from the Madressah had requested for new Abayas and Kurtas to wear at their upcoming Jalsa (ceremony). We are eternally grateful to Yasmin Gani, a diligent member of the WMO Africa Chapter Youth Wing for arranging all the attires, despite a broken leg.
Yasmin also accompanied Dr. Hassim to the orphanage to partake in the joy of giving and distributed the clothes, along with a gift bag to the children.

The children reciprocated with the soulful rendition of verses from the holy Quran as a blissful evening came to an end on the perfect note.
