The World Memon Organisation Europe Chapter held its first Working Committee Meeting for the new 2026–2029 term on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, at Taste of Lahore, Edgware.

The meeting was conducted by Farhan Farooq, Regional Secretary, together with Mohammed Imran Maskatiya, Regional Treasurer, and was attended by Nasir Iqbal, Vice Chairman – GYW; Faisal Yousuf, Patron – Europe Chapter; Yousuf Gadit, Osman Kaderia and Arif Mundiya, RMC Members; and Ahmed Patel and Ahmed Virani, Youth Executives.

A productive discussion took place on the Chapter’s priorities for the new term, including the formation of working committees, membership growth and engagement, improved member communication, Burial & Welfare Services, Humanitarian & Zakat initiatives, Matrimonial & Family Introduction Services, youth development, sports programmes, and a stronger annual calendar of community events.

The committee also discussed updating the WMO Europe membership database, introducing regular newsletters and strengthening communication to keep members better informed about Europe Chapter and Central WMO activities. Opportunities for future collaboration with MAUK and MAL on selected community initiatives were also discussed.

Plans for the 2026–2027 events calendar were considered, including Eid celebrations, Memon Day, the Summer One Dish Party, cricket and football activities, and a proposed community evening at the Pakistan High Commission.

The meeting marked a positive beginning to the new term, with a shared commitment to strengthening participation, improving community services and creating greater opportunities for the Memon community across Europe.

Together, we look forward to a productive and successful 2026–2029 term.
