European Union Evaluation Mission to MITI

On the 1st of September, Mr. David Pearson (Consultant to EU) led the European Union Evaluation Mission to MITI. He was joined by officials from TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) who were warmly welcomed by Mr. H M Shehzad (Chairman of MITI and Regional Vice President of WMO Pakistan Chapter).

For the unversed, Memon Industrial and Technical Institute (MITI) is a top ranking Vocational Training Institute of Pakistan. The sprawling establishment was set up in East Karachi by the World Memon Organisation more than a decade ago.

The much awarded institute has been the flag bearer of the humanitarian services rendered by WMO. MITI has created job opportunities for more than a hundred thousand youngsters who have cultivated special skill sets through the wide variety of technical, IT and multimedia courses taught at the institute.

So it is quite common for foreign delegations to visit the hallowed halls of MITI to support, to partner, sometimes to learn and more often to applaud the dedication, passion and hardwork of its driving force – H M Shehzad.
