On 5 September 2026, the WMO Africa Chapter and AWQAFSA gathered for a truly momentous occasion — the groundbreaking ceremony of the future Golden Age Village.

What was once a vision spoken about many years ago is now beginning to take physical form. Surrounded by members, supporters, well-wishers and those who have carried this dream in their hearts, we witnessed the first steps towards a project that promises to become a lasting legacy for generations to come.

The occasion was filled with gratitude, reflection and emotion. For many, it was more than the breaking of ground — it was the fulfilment of a dream held by those who came before us. We remembered with love and dua the many individuals who had passed on, yet who had once expressed the heartfelt desire to see this vision become a reality. Their hopes and aspirations remain woven into the foundations of this noble project.

The Golden Age Village represents more than buildings and infrastructure. It represents dignity, care, community and a commitment to honouring our elders — creating a place where the golden years of life can be lived with comfort, companionship and respect.

As we look ahead, we do so with immense hope and humility. There is still a journey ahead, and the success of this vision will depend on the continued support, generosity and involvement of our community.

May Allah SWT bless this project, accept the efforts of all those who have contributed towards it, reward those who envisioned it, and grant maghfirah and the highest stages of Jannah to those who passed away while carrying this dream in their hearts.
