Among the many milestones of the WMO Africa Chapter stands the PMT Burial Centre, a project born of vision and sustained through generosity. Established in Laudium, Pretoria, the Centre owes its existence to the unwavering support of the WMO Africa Chapter, whose members recognised the dignity owed to every community member, even in their final rites, and worked tirelessly to see this facility come to life.

This legacy project stands as a lasting testament to what collective will and compassion can build — a service that will continue to support the Laudium community for generations to come.

The significance of this achievement was recently underscored during a visit by WMO leadership. Ahmed Gani, Regional President of the WMO Africa Chapter, personally hosted WMO President Salman Iqbal and the Regional President of the WMO Middle East Chapter, giving them a firsthand tour of the Centre.
