From Zakat Recipients to Zakat Givers: WMO NIC’s Empowering Initiative

by on 24 January 2025

As our esteemed President of the World Memon Organization, Mr Salman Iqbal, eloquently stated, ‘We must all dare to dream.’ Today, we are living proof of that dream, empowering women in our community to achieve financial independence. This project serves as a powerful platform to unleash their potential.

Empowering women is not just about individual growth; it’s about empowering the nation itself. The World Memon Organization strives to ensure that no member of our community is left behind, and this initiative reflects that commitment. By providing these talented ladies with a platform to showcase their products and offering them marketing support, we are turning their homes into thriving businesses. We are transforming ordinary housewives into confident entrepreneurs, shifting their focus from depending on Zakat to contributing to the well-being of others by them selves becoming Zakat givers.

There is an undeniable strength in a woman determined to rise. Here, we are witnessing our ladies break through barriers, shatter the glass ceiling, and soar to new heights. This aligns perfectly with our WMO motto: ‘Unite, Uphold, and Uplift.’

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr Haseen Aghadi, Regional President of WMO North India Chapter, Mr Iqbal Officer, President of AIMJF, Mrs Yasmeen Mozawala, GLW Regional Ladies Chair – USA Chapter, and all the esteemed dignitaries present. Your presence and encouragement have been invaluable. A special thanks to all the incredible ladies who have graced us with their participation. Your hard work and dedication have resulted in the resounding success of this event, with nearly every stall displaying the proud banner of ‘SOLD OUT.’

Thank you.

Razia Chasmawala, WMO Global Ladies Deputy Chair
